Celebrating Amazing Women!
One of the absolute highlights, during a normal work day at the Dot & Dash studio in Austin, happens when one of our team members speaks up to ask the crew to stop their current activity and listen for just a minute. We all smile and pause as we know something magical is coming! The shipping crew stops ... the packing crew stops .. the beading team stops .. and the accounting team stops (yes - many of those humans are ALL one person in our small but mighty tribe!). And so... the story is shared. The names and faces and the story itself are always different but the absurdly beautiful weaving together of the hearts of a Dot & Dash gift giver and a Dot & Dash gift receiver is the constant thread that encourages us so much. This Mother's Day Season - our team was impacted greatly by the weaving of the stories of so many amazing submissions during our 2024 Supermom contest.
We were so touched by each story and we awarded 9 winners with a $50 gift card to select their perfect piece of Dot & Dash. Take a look at a few of these outstanding women.
One specific entry was beautifully touching as a woman, Laura T., nominated her hospice nurse, Cindy N. These two women were knit together at the heart ... as Cindy stepped in as an encouraging mom during this difficult time. They even enjoyed a beautiful roadtrip with some of Laura's requested bucket list items. And another entry honored a stepmom of 30+ years with a beautiful tribute!
