Walking Alongside with Hope & Smiles
Dot & Dash is on the road again sharing our designs. Last week, we were able to connect our jewelry with a group of medical heroes in the Austin area. Day in and day out - medical teams - make a vital difference in ALL of our lives. From the team at a local pediatrician's office to the ER staff ready to help with a trauma during the night --- we count on and are blessed by a wide array of excellent medical services in Austin.
This week, we were able to stop by to say "thank you" with a basket full of hand-crafted Dot & Dash designs. Our team was honored to create and deliver a special selection of meaningful words wrapped in turquoise beauty to a department at St. David's South Austin Medical Center.
This medical team cares for so many patients each year who are battling blood cancers in the Austin area (and beyond). We were honored to share 20+ Dot & Dash designs with this team that serves patients with Leukemia, Amyloidosis, Aplastic anemia, Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma and more.
We presented earrings and necklaces with the messages: "RESILIENT" and "HERO." As we delivered the collection, we shared, "We hope these designs will remind your nursing team to feel encouraged as they go about the daily work of encouraging patients with cancer." We were honored to meet Kelly Clemmer, RN, BSN, Director of Nursing, Transplant & Cellular Therapy and Katie Flanagan, Communications Manager, St. David's South Austin Medical Center.Kelly's team handles Blood and Marrow Transplants (BMT) for a variety of blood cancers and she has served at St. David's since 2012. Kelly let us know there are approximately 90 clinical staff members across the BMT program dedicated to working together to care for patients in this service line. St. David's South Austin Medical Center brings advanced inpatient and outpatient cancer treatment options to Austin.
This amazing staff helps patients in need of specialized care, offering (BMT) blood and marrow transplants for patients in the area. Thank you to this outstanding team - and so many others in our great city - who diligently work to make a difference in the lives of others going through hard medical battles. We are SO grateful for y'all! Kelly and Katie's smiles say everything --- they are embracing the daily opportunity to bring hope with their knowledge, skills, and compassion --- to a world of hurting humans.
